My talented artist

-oil pastel of a flower-
Mason is so talented especially at art and drawing. Ever since he was really little he loved to draw and doodle things. He has sooooo many drawings that we have created his own art scrapbook. This year at school his artwork was selected as one of the exceptional designs to be on display at the 2009 Annual Elementary Art Show. It is on display at norwood furniture along with all the other schools. His art teacher said it was quite an honor to be selected. His artwork was also chosen last year to be on display at the Gilbert town square hall. I am so proud of him and his love for art. What an awesome talent!!

As if it doesn't smell already!

Mady went in for her one week follow up today. They took some x-rays to make sure everything is healing properly. Her arm is looking great, everything is still in place and hopefully only 3 more weeks to go. She goes back next week for a 2 week check up. On another note, the whole bathing issue is getting ridiculous. I am really anal about giving baths every night and it is just way to hard to do with this cast. So, for now she only gets a real bath about twice a week and the other nights are just wipe downs with the wipies. The other night when I was on the computer (probably blogging) she was getting mad because I wasn't paying attention to her, so she was sitting at my feet whining and then she got really quiet for a minute. I looked down to see what she was doing and she had decided to take the string cheese she was eating and smoosh it all underneath her fingers in her cast. Holy Cow it was way down in there and I had to use a ton of wipies and try to shove my fingers down there and clean it out. I got it out but boy did it make it extra stinky, and it was already getting kind of smelly anyway. I put some good ole trusty lavender essential oil all over her fingers and cast and wallah the stinky cheese smell was gone. No more sticking things down the cast ,please!

Everything Happens In 3

What a week it was last week for my family!! Literally, they say third times a charm, everything happens in threes. So, this is the story....... (I know it's long just read it's worth it)
At the beginning of the week my Dad blacked out while driving his car (luckily he didn't crash)and we all thought he had a stroke so after forcing him to go to the ER, three days and tons of tests later they didn't find anything substancial. Doctors diagnosed it as a mini stroke and acted like people have them all the time and told Dad to eat better and excercise. Don't you just love doctors!! On Friday my nephew Carson had surgery at PCH to repair a hernia and everything went well and he is doing fine. Friday night Jesse and I were getting ready to go out and as we were walking out the door I turned around to say goodbye to the kids and saw Mady topple over out the front of the huge mighty mac kidtruck in the backyard and she was pinned underneath. I couldn't hear her screaming so I knew something wasn't right. As Jesse ran over and I panicked, of course, we picked her up then she started crying and I could visually see her right arm was broken between the wrist and elbow. Good thing grandma was already over to watch Mason and off we went to PCH urgent care for our date night. After some painful x-rays and a huge splint to wrap it up, the doctor didn't know the extent of it and told us they would call the next day after the radiologist read the x-rays. Saturday we got the phone call that we needed to take her to Phoenix Childrens Hospital to get it fixed, that it was worse than they thought. Seven hours later, 4 attempts at an IV, 4 times the amount of concious sedation to work for her and the news was the ER doctor couldn't fix it. We needed to be admitted over night to see the ped. ortho. surgeon in the morning, Mady was not a happy camper and I was having my good old anxiety attacks about the whole situation. Good news is the orthopedic doctor was able to fix the problem without doing actual surgery, but Mady did have to be fully sedated for it. We got home at about 2:00 on Sunday with our little girl and a purple cast!

This is Friday night at the urgent care.

This is in the hospital on Saturday after still waiting for 6 hours to be seen. Good thing they had a t.v. for her to watch.

This incident hasn't slowed her down. She refuses to wear her sling and was already asking if she could jump on the trampoline and go swimming. This will be a long (hopefully only) 4 weeks!

The big bad truck, it actually is really heavy because it has a motor and batteries in it. I can't even pick it up.

I thought we were all over with our aches and pains but I was wrong. Monday was my 29th b-day and we just spent it at home laying around all day. We did go with my family to Joes BBQ for my free b-day dinner. My wonderful hubby did all the laundry, went grocery shopping and washed and waxed my car for me. It was the best gift after a weekend like that. To top it off that night Mason woke up to vomit all over his bedroom floor. Joes must have not set well with him, so he stayed home on Tuesday and then he was fine. I pray every day that we are done with for a while. We will keep updating the cast arm situation.

The kids had an Easter overload! Of course Aunt Gigi & Aunt Catie out did everybody this year. Mason and Mady love going over to Aunt Gigi's because they always get so spoiled, and get to do the funnest things! On Saturday they got to go over there and decorate easter sugar cookies, yum yum.

Uncle Don and Aunt Gigi hid what seemed like 150 easter eggs all full of goodies, and the kids got to hunt for them in the backyard.
So excited she found an egg!

On the hunt, better run fast. Cousin Andrew was over also and so him and Mason were on a race to see who could get the most, some of the eggs were even filled with money!

After the egg hunt they colored eggs.

Of course Mady chose the Hannah Montana egg kit.
All the loot. They even got an extra filled basket from aunties with goodies and toys! WOW are they ever spoiled, that's what happens when there are only 3 grandkids in a family of nine brothers and sisters. The easter bunny didn't even need to come.
On Easter Sunday we of course went to church and yes the easter bunny did visit our house too. To end it all the Bodine side of the family came over to our house and we did another egg hunt for the kids and hosted easter dinner, yummy. I was glad to be done with all the hoopla. Most importantly I was thankful to have had a special home evening with the kids to tell the Easter story and why we celebrate Easter. The kids really listened and I know they understood what Jesus did for them. Iam thankful for all my blessings and a wonderful time to spend with family.

Then & Now

On April 10th it was our ten year anniversary!!!
A lot has happened in 10 years, I can't believe it has been that long.
We have moved four times, gone back to college, had two beautiful kids and started our own business. Yes, we have had are ups and downs, but I truly am grateful for all the things that we have experienced and gone through together. I couldn't have asked for a better husband and father. He has been an amazing provider and companion and he loves his kids more than anything. I can't wait to see what the next years will bring. I Love Him So Much!

Happy Anniversary!
April 10,1999 (so young)

April 1o,2009 - We took the kids to the temple and walked around the beautiful temple grounds and showed them pictures from our wedding album and where the spots were that they were taken. Iam so thankful and blessed.

Wildman Phil!!!

Wildman Phil came to visit Mason's school and he brought lots of icky, creepy crawly, slithery animals to share. This is a picture of me and the kids with a HUGE python snake around us. You can't even see the whole size of him in the picture it is big and gross. As you can see Mady was not thrilled and Mason would not take his eyes off of him and I was cringing inside the whole time. Yes, Jesse is taking the picture, he would not even go near the snake, he is soooo scared of snakes, it's kind of funny.

This is a chuckwalla (who knows what) some kind of a lizard. It feels really weird, kind of like sand paper.

The best animal of all was the desert spirred tortoise that lost its front leg when it was little and Phil has adopted it and figured out a way to help him move around. They have put a wheel attached to it and it actually moves around like that.

Pinetop- Snow Trip

In February we went with the whole Rowley family to Pinetop and stayed at a humungous cabin for the weekend. It was fun to have the whole family together to just relax and enjoy each others company. The kids of course loved the snow, and sledding. It was actually pretty warm during the day and they ended up taking off their jackets because they started sweating.

Mason flying down the hill!!

Mady and Jesse getting ready to go down,
eventually Mady ended up doing it by herself.

My little snow bunnies

Mason dug out a huge hole to sit in.
