What a week it was last week for my family!! Literally, they say third times a charm, everything happens in threes. So, this is the story....... (I know it's long just read it's worth it)
At the beginning of the week my Dad blacked out while driving his car (luckily he didn't crash)and we all thought he had a stroke so after forcing him to go to the ER, three days and tons of tests later they didn't find anything substancial. Doctors diagnosed it as a mini stroke and acted like people have them all the time and told Dad to eat better and excercise. Don't you just love doctors!! On Friday my nephew Carson had surgery at PCH to repair a hernia and everything went well and he is doing fine. Friday night Jesse and I were getting ready to go out and as we were walking out the door I turned around to say goodbye to the kids and saw Mady topple over out the front of the huge mighty mac kidtruck in the backyard and she was pinned underneath. I couldn't hear her screaming so I knew something wasn't right. As Jesse ran over and I panicked, of course, we picked her up then she started crying and I could visually see her right arm was broken between the wrist and elbow. Good thing grandma was already over to watch Mason and off we went to PCH urgent care for our date night. After some painful x-rays and a huge splint to wrap it up, the doctor didn't know the extent of it and told us they would call the next day after the radiologist read the x-rays. Saturday we got the phone call that we needed to take her to Phoenix Childrens Hospital to get it fixed, that it was worse than they thought. Seven hours later, 4 attempts at an IV, 4 times the amount of concious sedation to work for her and the news was the ER doctor couldn't fix it. We needed to be admitted over night to see the ped. ortho. surgeon in the morning, Mady was not a happy camper and I was having my good old anxiety attacks about the whole situation. Good news is the orthopedic doctor was able to fix the problem without doing actual surgery, but Mady did have to be fully sedated for it. We got home at about 2:00 on Sunday with our little girl and a purple cast!
This is Friday night at the urgent care.

This is in the hospital on Saturday after still waiting for 6 hours to be seen. Good thing they had a t.v. for her to watch.

This incident hasn't slowed her down. She refuses to wear her sling and was already asking if she could jump on the trampoline and go swimming. This will be a long (hopefully only) 4 weeks!

The big bad truck, it actually is really heavy because it has a motor and batteries in it. I can't even pick it up.

I thought we were all over with our aches and pains but I was wrong. Monday was my 29th b-day and we just spent it at home laying around all day. We did go with my family to Joes BBQ for my free b-day dinner. My wonderful hubby did all the laundry, went grocery shopping and washed and waxed my car for me. It was the best gift after a weekend like that. To top it off that night Mason woke up to vomit all over his bedroom floor. Joes must have not set well with him, so he stayed home on Tuesday and then he was fine. I pray every day that we are done with for a while. We will keep updating the cast arm situation.
